Top 3 Most Anticipated Second Seasons

2019 was a great year for some of the new kids on the block in the anime world. This was definitely the case when I was voting for the Crunchyroll Anime awards as it was so hard to choose for some categories. However out of all the new anime that dropped last year, there are three that I literally cannot wait for Season 2.

First up is Dr. Stone. This was an anime that I initially did not give enough credit to. I was sleeping on Dr. Stone. There was so much hype on Crunchyroll for it and I was like, ” I mean it looks kinda interesting”. I was not trying to fall into the hype. Sure, sure it may sound like I was being very “hipster” but I just wasn’t feeling it like that. But then I thought, hey let me at least watch the first couple of episodes.

Initially, I wasn’t hooked. It was okay enough for me to not watch every week when a new episode came out. So I waited till some episodes stacked up and I tried again. I had to keep watching till the end of the season. And I was sad season 1 was over. How is the kingdom of science going to defeat the empire of might?! So many things to look forward to for season 2.

Season 2 is looking to come out in mid-2020 and I for one CANNOT wait to see how Senku and the gang defeat Tsukasa and his empire.

Next is The Promised Neverland. Let me tell you this show was such a anxiety-inducing roller-coaster. There were so many twists and turns, this little blurb does not do the show justice. Needless to say, I am very very excited for this next season. The show was nothing I thought it would be. As to not give away too many details, the way the characters are constantly thinking and scheming is second to none. I love seeing their thought process and trying to guess what will be the next decision or twist. This is one of those who can you trust kind of shows. There’s a awesome mixture of suspense, mystery, and sadness.

Season 2 is set to be released in October 2020 joining the winter lineup. So only 9 long months to go, but I know it will be worth the wait.

Finally the last show, my most anticipated show is Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba! Demon Slayer was in my opinion the best newcomer in 2019. The story shifts the focus of your regular shonen. Tanjiro is not trying to become the best demon slayer or some kind of “king” version. He only wants to help his sister. I love how this is the narrative to the story. No shade to Elsa and Anna, but this is a sibling story I can get behind. Again trying to leave out spoilers, but Tanjiro is nominated for #bestbigbro after season 1. AND!! Let us not forget Zenitsu and Inosuke. The show got increasingly better once they linked up with Tanjiro. I can’t wait to see more team ups.

Now while we’re not exactly getting a season 2, we are getting a whole movie. This movie is going to be the next story arc that will fall inline with the episodes. This movie will be released late July-mid August 2020. In this movie we are also getting a look at one of the Hashiras: Kyojuro Rengoku. I’m so excited!

Let me know what anime you’re looking forward to in 2020! Peace!
