What is up people! For Anime Monday I am talking all about my favorite heroes from My Hero Academia! As Alesso said, “We could be heroes!”
For a little backstory, My Hero is all about how a quirk-less boy named Midoriya gains powers to become the number one hero, a symbol of peace. In this universe there are people who have quirks which are more or less super powers. For this list, I will only be focusing on the heroes (or provisional heroes) from Class 1-A. Here are my top five picks!
Number 5: Ochaco Uraraka
To start, she is my favorite female hero in Class 1-A. Her quirk is Zero Gravity, which means she can make almost anything weightless. Not only is she caring but she is also honest about why she wants to be a hero. She wants to be able to provide for her family. And then her hero name is Uravity which was definitely one of my favorites on the show. She’s also proven she can hold her own on the battlefield after going toe-to-toe with Class 1-As bad boy Bakugo. She’s amazing and deserves all the good things in life!
Number 4: Mezo Shoji
Shoji!! Man I love this character and wished he got more screen time. Shoji is essentially like a big teddy bear. Now granted his quirk is….a little different. It’s called Dupli-Arms which allows him to duplicate s of his different parts of his body like eyes, ears and his nose. This also allows his senses to be heightened. We’ve only seen glimpses of him in action, but he is such a nice person like he would do anything for his classmates. He helped Deku and the others for Bakugo’s Escort squad. During the chaos he reminded the team to keep their heads and not let their judgment be crowed by their emotions. He is an awesome character and I need Horikoshi to figure out a way to get him more screen time.
Number 3: Eijiro Kirishima
If I am being completely honest, I really thought Kirishima’s quirk was *shrugs* eh. The Hardening quirk I thought could be somewhat useful, but I didn’t really think there would be way to power it up. Until we got to Season 4. Season 4 Kirishima is a freaking beast. When they show his story they paint another picture for him, then just being Bakugo’s friend. While it is cool that he is patient enough to befriend Bakugo, Season 4 allows us to see Kirishima’s insecurity and how he overcomes it.
Number 2: Katsuki Bakugo
Yes, yes, yes. I know, I know. Why in the world do I have the Class 1-A bully on my list. With the explosion quirk. And believe me, if we only had Season 1 Bakugo there would be no way he would be on my favorites list. But because of the growth we seen from Season 1 to Season 4 is why he is on my top 5 favorites. So far, I would have to say Bakugo has gone through the most character development we have seen on the show. And yes that would mean even more than quirk-less Deku. At first seeing Bakugo in season 1 was disappointing as I was sooo not feeling his treatment towards Deku. But overall it’s been cool to see him go from a bully to a rival. And this is why he gets the number 2 slot.
Number 1: Shoto Todoroki
Yes just like Megan thee Stallion Shoto Todoroki is top boy for me. He has the Half-Cold Half-Hot. Which is literally like a combination of a fire and water bender. He has the coolest quirk, in my opinion, and I just want him to win. Todoroki has been through so much and he DESERVES to win. While he may not have the most development, he has certainly has grown the most in terms of letting himself have friends. Todoroki needs supportive people in his life and he’s already becoming a better hero. He’s grown so much that he’s even willing to try to attempt mending his relationship with is father. It’s #TeamTodoroki round these parks and I hope to see more of his story.
Those are my top five favorite heroes! I enjoyed making this list because it really made me sit and think through why I like the heroes I like. I still am looking for a black character in one of the Classes, like a magical black girl would be nice, but I digress lol. Let me know who’s your favorite hero and what would your quirk be. See ya’ll soon! Peace!
