Favorite Male Leads

What’s up Nerds.

Today is all about the men. Continuing with our theme of webcomics here are the my favorite characteristics and male leads!

He has honor

This honor is the kind where the male protagonist has a choice to turn his back on his love interest and he refuses because it would not be right, moral or just. He knows there are enemies playing underhanded and he will not stand for his love to be tormented or ridiculed. He also has honor when it comes to battles. He is fierce in his swordplay but won’t play tricks to seal the victory. He may also be the strategist but he is known for protecting his people.

He’s not easily manipulated or uses manipulation

This goes hand in hand with his honor, but a great male lead is able to snuff out the foolery. He won’t be easily manipulated to do what the villain wants. He’ll be level-headed and think through where the source of his information is coming from. I also love when the male lead can catch the villain or person doing the manipulation in a lie and calls them out for it. It’s just *chef’s kiss*

He’s loyal

This male lead knows who he’s with and he is committed. He won’t let anyone or anything come in between him and his love for the female lead. He is compassionate and works on himself so that he can be a better partner for her. He may be grumpy at first, but over time he shows his true nature to only her. And as she influences him, he starts to see he can be empathetic to those around him as well.

Johann Pertan (Elena Evoy)

Johann is that male lead you are rooting for, because the female lead is a little clueless. Johann was on a mission to surpass Elena Evoy as the number 1 student, because he never comes in 2nd. However this academic competition is really the start to his love story. Johann was also amazing because he could have been one of those nobles to look down on Elena because she had less than. He was apart of one of the highest noble families. He didn’t let his nobility or his duty to his family keep him from becoming friends with her. And when he knew how to finally break free of his family’s chains, he came up with a strategic plan and made sure he was sufficient so that Elena did not have to do any more work than what she wanted to pursue. Got to love a male lead like Johann.

Rouche Berk (I’ve Become a True Villainess)

Ah yes, the Grand Duke himself. He by far is one of the most authoritative male leads I’ve seen in a long time. He holds the highest power second to the King and he is a powerhouse on the battlefield. At first you think he has no interest in Seria or really any of the characters, but when her life is in danger he doesn’t hesitate to save her. He dismisses anyone who would try to harm Seria including her ex-fiancé. Rouche is the man you’d want on your side no matter what because he knows how to get results. While it may be a bit unorthodox how they got together, Rouche proves again and again that he is committed to one woman and one woman only, Seria Sterne.

Kun (The Golden Forest)

Kun is the epitome of “good things come to those who wait” I’ll try to not to into spoilers but Kun is just everything. He’s a warrior, the last of his tribe destined to rule. When we meet him he’s so sweet and naïve that you don’t know how he’s going to make it in this cruel worlds. But because he stays faithful to his mission, he become a leader that his people both admire and revere. His loyalty is astounding and he isn’t shy to show affection to his beloved. He loves and cherishes her beyond anyone else and it is shown through his actions. Even when it seems like all hope is lost, Kun shows up and saves the day. He’s an amazing male lead and EVERYONE SHOULD GO READ IT.

That’s is for my favorite male leads! Please let me know in the comment who’s your favorite and why. See you tomorrow and keep nerding out!
