First things first. Yes, I know I am two years late in talking about how awesome this game is. In my defense, this website didn’t exist yet but here we are! And I can’t wait to share my thoughts on this game!
I’ve played a lot of Legend of Zelda games so this series as a whole has left a major impact on my life. So in turn, Nintendo has had a major impact on my view of gaming. They’ve made some of the best games with this series alone. And while I am eagerly awaiting Breath of the Wild 2 to come out( or honestly just another trailer) I have plenty to say about its predecessor.
I will for sure, get the positive “Everything that BOTW did right” but for right now, I’m going to talk about all the misses in Breath of the Wild. There were only a couple of things that I thought could have been changed to make the game even better.
The Music
Man I was kinda disappointed playing the game and not having any iconic themes to swoon over. LOZ has been praised for it over the years. BOTW however didn’t give us memorable tunes, but rather light airy melodies during our rides in Hyrule field. I did like how the music in the towns and settlements got slower at night, imitating the winding down of a day. I hope for BOTW 2 the developers can incorporate the tranquility of the wild and give us a couple of grand classical pieces to fit into the LOZ series.
The Final Bosses
So I know I’m not the first person to talk about Calamity Ganon and Dark Beast Ganon. After recently completing the main story line, The last two battles in a raging war between darkness and light, the fight was pretty anti-climatic. I mean Thunderblight Ganon took me a minute to defeat. With Calamity Ganon, this battle can just take longer than you want, especially when he climbs the walls in the sanatorium. After defeating him, you move onto the Dark Beast Ganon. When I finally got to this section of the battle I was on edge because I didn’t know what to expect. There was a huge beast outside of the castle and I didn’t know if it was going to be an easy take down. However I quickly realized that this beast barely moves. All I needed t do was hit him a few times with the light arrows and I was good. The final battle should be epic and will give you mini heart attacks.
The Sidequests
While I loved completing the main storyline, the were so many unique sidequest to chooose from. HOWEVER, there is just one sidequest I found that could have been better and that is the Korok’s seeds. First of all why are there 900 in the game? And why does Hetsu give the worst possible prize for completing and finding all 900? But it’s fine. Thankfully this did not need to be completed or was necessary for the game’s storyline.
There are so many great things to say about Breath of the Wild. Now that the potential negatives have been disscussed, I can’t wait to dive into all the things that make BOTW one of the best games ever.
Thanks for reading! Peace!
