Quarantine Thoughts

Hey guys! This is just a quick check-in during this crazy time that we’re living in. While on Mondays I would usually be coming to you with an anime related article, but I wanted to take the time to address what’s going on around the world.

I live in America, and it I’m being honest it’s getting a little scary. It’s hard to not get caught up in all the news headlines and the virus updates. But although this is a website rooted in video games and anime, I just wanted to take a moment to offer some encouragement.

What will make my site different from your other video game and anime sites, is that I care about this growing community. It’s super small but I want you guys to know that I am thinking about the different situations you could be going through. There are a lot of students not in school, seniors wondering if they’re going to graduate. A lot of classes have been pushed to online, and there’s plenty of people who can’t really learn in that environment.

There are others who have reduced hours from their job, or don’t have a job to go back to. And not to mention all the nurses, doctors, grocery cashiers and other essential workers who’s workload has been increased 100 times over. Know that I empathized with you and am thinking and praying for you guys daily. There aren’t a lot of gamers/anime watchers who will speak about their beliefs, but I don’t mind talking about what I believe in. I’m not one to push my beliefs on anyone, but that doesn’t stop me from sharing my own experiences. That’s what this site is all about.

I’m a black woman who loves Jesus, games, and anime. I always wanted to share my love for these things with other people who were like me. I know this isn’t for everyone, and that’s cool. For the people who need to read this, I’m praying in agreement with you. I’m praying for your breakthrough. I’m believing that God will meet you where you need Him most. Most of all I’m praying for your peace. There’s a lot of anxiety and uncertainty. A LOT OF IT. I’m right there too.

While we don’t have any control over what’s going on around us, we can choose how we respond. I choose to help when I can and limit my intake on the negative. So if that means I’m playing Animal Crossing for my 5th day straight or that I’m binge watching Mob Psycho 100 that’s what I’ll be doing for my #selfcare. Do I want to do more with my site and my eventual streaming channel (hopefully!)? Of course I do, but it’s okay in this unforeseeable future to do what you love to do.

I hope that this doesn’t come across as preachy, but I just really wanted to address what’s been going on in the world. I know I don’t have a huge reach, but I just want you guys to know that I’m thinking of you and praying for a better tomorrow!

Again most of my post won’t be like this and I”ll return to my #videogameTuesday content (Yes it’ll probably be more Animal Crossing!). But I think this was needed. Love you guys and come back tomorrow for my next post!

Keep lighting our connections through games and anime. Peace!
