If you’ve had a chance to peruse my blog then you can see there are a couple of gaming series that I love talking about. Based on the title you already know one of them is Legend of Zelda. This series has been with me since I was in the fourth grade and it has a special place in my heart. So natrually I’ve played many of the games in the series so here are my top 3 favorite LOZ video games.
The first game on the list is Majora’s Mask. This game originally debuted in 2000 and is the sequel to Ocarina of Time. This was the first game I tried to beat on my GameCube back in 2003. The other games for some reason did not interest me as much as Majora’s Mask. Even though Ocarina of Time would eventually take the place as my first ever game I’d beaten, Majora’s Mask had me hooked with it’s dark theme, cool music, and characters. I can remember going through Termina field and heading towards Snowhead and coming across this weird guy dancing. As I got closer to the man eerie music played as he floated back and forth. This was one of the many memories I had while playing Majora’s Mask. If you haven’t tried it, this is a definite essential play from a nostalgia.
Next on my list would be Twilight Princess. This game was released back in 2006, and could arguably be one the darkest games in the series, both visually and literally. TP is probably my favorite story to play. Link finding out he’s a descendent of the Hero of Time, and having to go save his friends from the village. And Link being able to turn into a wolf was pretty epic. At first you wonder how it would be becoming a wolf, but it works surprisingly well. Also introducing the new race of the Twili was awesome as I loved Midna’s story. This was one of the more mature games in the Zelda series as well.
Last but not least my all time favorite LOZ game is the Wind Waker! Remember back when I said LOZ was my first gaming series on GameCube? Well on that same special collector’s addition, there was a 20 minute demo of the new game coming out in 2002, the Wind Waker. I played this demo to death. I would start in new places each time and try to see how much I could do within the timeframe. Needless to say I was doing a speedruns not even realizing that was what I was doing. I was able to get off of the Forsaken Forest, be thrown by the Helmarac King, and get everything off of Windfall Island. This was also the game that introduced us to the Rito people and the famous Dragon Roost Island. I loved the brightness and vibrancy of the colors. The style was so different and fun and I loved every part of it. And Wind Waker probably has the best music in a Zelda game. Overall this is a game I continually come back to and play over and over.
So there you have it! Those are my favorite LOZ games in the entire series. Let me know in the comments what are your top three LOZ games? I’ll see you tomorrow, peace!
