Happy #videogametuesday! Today is all about Link and my favorite versions
Number 3: Breath of the Wild
In at number 3 is Link from Breath of the Wild. So I wanted to definitely include Link from BOTW. This Link had to be on this list solely for his sass. I mean the options in his dialogue are so unlike any Link in the series. We get the opportunity to really see what Link is thinking and feeling about situations. Yes, there is a chance of a personality change because of almost dying and being healed for 100 years, but I am for this new and witty Link.
Not only is he sassy, but this Link is creative and fun. He likes posting for the camera and loves trying different combinations for cooking. He is an all around guy so there’s no wonder he had a couple of people checking him out. You can also probably argue that this Link is the most athletic. There hasn’t really been anyone else who could climb mountains in a day or travel by paraglider across terrains.
And while we’re talking about his athleticism, he’s combat skills are on par with even the Hero of Time. He can handle a diverse weaponry and is a master in swordfighting, archery, and explosives. And honestly who can’t respect a dude showing midriff in order to save the world?
Number 2: Twilight Princess
So I’ve seen a lot of mixed feelings about Twilight Princess. This has been one of my favorite LoZ games to play. And this Link. Man this Link is that mature Link. That serious Link who’s really about saving the world. Even if he has to do it as a wolf! Let’s talk about Wolf Link for a moment. He has the typical skills you’d expect a wolf to have and is also able to take huge monsters like the shadow beast.
I really think people forget how bada** Link is in this game. He’s constantly saving his friends/kids from his village. He can change from human to wolf. He’s throwing his weight around with the Gorons and walking in water to handle these creatures of the deep. And let’s not forget he would defeat shadow beasts (which could arguably be some of the creepiest and scariest monsters in the game), a freaking giant spider, and a dragon! Say what you want, but Twilight Princess’ Link is one you don’t wanna mess with.
While TP’s Link is being all serious and BOTW’s Link of get trying to be a chef. Wind Waker’s Link is just so relatable, you are rooting for him from the start.
Number 1: Wind Waker
Yes yes yes. Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker has my favorite Link of all time. The reason why I decided on this particular Link is because he is so relatable. Remember his face when his grandma made him put on the hero of time clothes? His whole attitude is #mood. Everyone can relate to wearing or doing something for your grandma so she wouldn’t be sad. Or when he got catapulted into the Forsaken Forest? Link was literally trying to escape. I know they probably meant this for humor, but when have you seen Link in any other series be afraid of something? He was more fearless on the island when he was about to walk off a cliff to save his sister.
Whenever Link is going through a challenge he’s able to focus and get the job done. He out of the three Links on this list wasn’t chosen as the hero. TP’s Link was descended from the Hero of Time (from Ocarina) and BOTW’s Link was a chosen knight to protect Hyrule. Wind Waker’s Link however had to go through different challenges to prove his worthiness. And his end goal wasn’t even to save the world (Hyrule) he’s main objective was to save his sister. I love his fighting style and how be interacts with other NPCs. I mean that cheer Link does when he wins something is just precious.
So there you have it guys. Wind Waker is the favorite of them all. Who’s your favorite Link? Let me know in the comments! Peace!
