What’s up Nerds! It’s been a minute and I’ve missed you guys! So I know you’re wondering where i the world have you been Kristen?? Well I’ve been quietly adjusting to the newest addition to our family Noah! We’re now a family of four and it’s been quite the transition!
Now I know what’ you’re thinking, what does this have to do with anything nerd related? Well it does, because I wan to let my other Nerds out there know that you can love your games, anime, and fandoms AND love being a parent. So for this post I want to talk about some of the items I’ve been using since Noah’s been born. Now that’s that has been stated let’s get into these items!
Boppy Nursing Pillow and Positioner
First up is the Boppy. So I have a love/hate relationship with the Boppy. I love it at times because it is helpful since I’m breastfeeding Noah. but there are times where I feel as though it could be just a bit bigger or firm. I have two Boppys that I use. So even though there are some qualms I have with it, it’s what I’m using the most. I would give it about 3.5 out of 5.
Bumco Baby Bum Brush
Next on this list is the Bumco Baby Bum Brush. This is a silicone brush used to apply lotion or ointment for baby’s bum. This is especially convenient when the spot is super tender to the touch. I also enjoy using this because it keeps things a lot more sanitary. I don’t have to touch the ointment so there’s less transfer of germs everywhere. I’d give this a 4 out of 5.
Munchkin Warm Glow Wipe Warmer
Moving right along we have the Munchkin Wipe Warmer. This holder warms the wipes by spraying warm mist on them. It does keep the wipes warm, as long as its plugged in. It’s been helpful for those early morning diaper changes because it keeps Noah’s crying down to a minimum. Not always but it is a help. What I don’t like is that the function to close and open the warmer has broken so it takes a bit of effort to close it back. Overall I’ll give it a 3 out of 5.
Frida Baby Fridababy 3-in-1 Humidifier with Diffuser and Nightlight
I like this product a lot. It is both a humidifier and diffuser but I mainly use it as a humidifier. I really like that you can adjust the speed of the mist to make a session last longer. I really like the nightlight feature because its a really large nightlight. It really helps gives a nice glow to room for these early morning feedings and diaper changes. It is also a pretty quiet machine so it doesn’t interfere with sleep. I would give this a 4 out of 5.
Before I wrap up this list, I wanted to include a couple of items that could be used for an older baby pr toddler.
Baby Banana Toothbrush
The banana toothbrush is a great addition ot have for any newly teething babies or to have for toddlers beginning to leran how to brush their own teeth. It is small enough for little hand to hold easily and the bristles are made of silicone. This helps for easy clean-up and the brush is soft enough for the baby/toddler to chew on as their new teeth come in. We used with for y first son when he was eething and it was a lifesaver. It was alwo a great transition into brushing his teeth when he was old enough. I give this a 4.5 out of 5.
Large Kids Toy Box Chest Storage Organizer with Double Flip-Top Lid
The last item I want to show you all is this toy organizer. This should not be confused with a toy box as those are very sturdy and cost way more than I’m willing to pay right now. But the organizer does exactly what it’s supposed too, it holds toys. If you need something to just house toys in your living room or nursery it will do the job. I use it to keep my toddler’s toys under control in the living room since we’re inn an apartment. I give it a solid 4 out of 5.
