What’s up Nerd Lighters! I’m coming at you with a mobile game review.
Today’s game I will be reviewing is called Animal Restaurant. It’s a cute animal themed strategy and time management game. If you are a fan of the original time management game Diner Dash, but you love cats, bunnies, and other woodland creatures this may be the game for you. The game starts in a short story mode where you see a lonely and abandoned cat. It is then looked after and offered food from some other cats in a restaurant. After you, the abandoned cat, eat and clean up, the owner of the restaurant offers you a job. The cat owner, Gumi says they need another pair of hands to help out. And so you begin your journey as the new worker in Gumi’s Kitchen.
The tutorial is very straightforward. You learn how to sit your customers, fulfill their order, and collect the payment, which is cod(the fish). I think the mechanics of the game are fine. Everything makes sense and is intuitive. Overall I think the game is solid. This was a recommended game from the Adorable Home game. If I where to describe this game in one word I would say it is continuous. I say this because there aren’t separate levels as you upgrade the restaurant.
There is a function near the bottom of the game screen that is labeled flyer promo. This button is used to get the word out about the restaurant. The more you press this button the more customers will appear in the restaurant. I thought this was a cool feature as you get to control the flow of the game. You’ll only feel overwhelmed if you press the flyer promo button too often. While we are talking about mechanics, there are different was to upgrade the restaurant. It’s separated into three categories: facilities, recipes, and staff. My favorite category is the recipe section as you can learn all kinds of recipes as long as you have enough to pay. As you serve your customers, there is a picture of the owner that you can click and get cod for completing tasks. It will also recommend items to buy to upgrade your restaurant. I like this feature as I don’t have to think about what I need to get next. Now let’s talk about the type of customers you will see.
The customers are all different woodland creatures, with the exception of the hyena, ostrich, and panda. When you start the game your customers are white and brown rabbits. These are what you would consider your basic/starter customers. Next come the deer, then some hyenas, rats, and special characters. Since we’re coming off of Halloween, there are some special Halloween themed characters like a pumpkin man and a zombie. I especially like the “rich kid” character which is a panda. He looks so cool and if you click on him he makes it rain cod! Hahaha! I loved it so much.
Since I recently got the game, I’ve had it for about 2 days. I’d like to keep playing and see how the upgrades go and what other animals live in this forest. Overall I would say I like it more than Adorable Home. But I do have a bias for time management type games. I like it though. If I end up keeping it by the end of the month, I’ll come back and update this article. I’d want to add other findings and see if my opinion on it has changed.
Let me know what’s your favorite mobile game in the comments! Peace!
