What is up Nerd Lighters! I am back to review Season 3 of Aggretusko Episode 6! If you need to catch up on the season, here are the reviews for episodes 1-5:
Episode Summary
Retsuko is still coming to terms being a part of the group. Manaka lets her feelings known by insinuating that the new style of music was such a shocked that no one will dare show up to the concert. She’s proven wrong shortly after that comment walking out to a packed house. After the show as Hyoudo takes the girls home, he explains why they were able to have a packed house. He explains that there is a popular blog about underground idol groups by the name of “The Idol Chief,” who wrote a flattering review after hearing the groups new song. It was because of his review that there was an influx of tickets being sold. Manaka thinks it was only a fluke, only to be disappointed again in the sold out show.
Hyoudo takes the girls to eat to discuss their next move, now that there is momentum in their popularity. He announces that they will be recording a CD and he’s ordering 3000 copies. Retsuko obviously is against this move stating they don’t want to be back in the red financially. She also notes that most people don’t have a CD player. Hyoudo continues that they aren’t only selling music, but they are selling an experience from the past. In each CD there will be a ticket that will allow the fan 3 seconds to hold the hands of their favorite group member. Next there is a montage of the group recording and taking pictures for the album.
Gori and Haida are ready to put their detective skills to the test as they wait to see what Retsuko is really up to when she’s not at work. They follow and see her get into a beat up minivan thinking she might be doing something against her will. Gori hails a taxi and they continue their investigation. They see her head to the airport. Once inside Haida tries to listen to their conversation to see where they are going. When Migi and Hidarin start talking about salted salmon and crab, Gori deduces that they are heading to Hokkaido. Haida gains a new resolve and inquires if there are any remaining last minute tickets on the flight. He is successful and follows Retsuko to the concert venue. He can’t get in since it’s sold out so he goes to get some ramen while looking at OTM’s social media.
He spends some time eating and texting Inui. It’s only then he notices a familiar voice next to him, Tadano. We see Tadano take Haida explaining to him that it’s okay to not know everything about a person. Tadano also notes that it must be love if Haida could follow Retsuko all the way to her concert and not see her perform. Nearing the end of the episode the OTM girls shaking hands with their fans. This is when Retsuko meets “The Idol Chief” and finds out it’s Komiya from work! He assures her he won’t say anything at work, but proceeds to take multiple pictures of her while she’s working. Retsuko talks to Hyoudo and says it may be time for her to move on. He then responds with his own question of why did she become an idol? Retsuko decides to just count to ten and become everyone’s idol.
Review/Reaction
This was a very interesting episode. I would say not as exciting, but it feels like it’s leading us there. If there was any reason to not like Manaka, this episode definitely adds to her list of unagreeableness. And Haida, man I have some mixed feelings about him in this episode. ON the one hand, the romantic in me says it’s so cool that he follower her. But! He ‘s also legit following her without her permission. I don’t know what to think about Haida, but I am glad he got a chance to meet up with Tadano and just man to man.
The next surprise was the reveal of the blogger “Iron Chief. Finding out it is Komiyae who helped them get the tickets sold was the very last thing Retsuko wanted. She doesn’t want any of their co-works to know what’s she’s being doing for the last few months. Hence why she hasn’t told Fenneko, Haida, and Gori what she’s been doing and why she can’t hang out like she. What’s worrying is the phrase Retsuko says at the end when Hyoudo askes her why she becomes an idol. She counts to 10 and becomes everyone’s idol. I have a feeling this is going to go south from here, but we’ll have to see what’s next. I am wondering if Retsuko and Tadano will get to meet and if he will actually becomes friends with Haida. Haida needs more male friends. As I said earlier, this episode wasn’t as exciting, but it’s definitely laying down some groundwork for an upheaval. I hope Retusko can get what she needs soon so she can leave without giving OTM too much of a hassle at her departure.
That’s it for episode 6! Thanks for hanging and remember if you want to read the reviews for the other episodes be sure to check at the beginning of the article. Till next time! Peace!
