Hello Nerd Lighters! Welcome to the Season 3 Episode 4 Review of Aggretusko: Winds of Change. You can check out my review for the other episodes here:
Episode Summary
To start off the episode, Retsuko is selling her VR gaming system and they VR boyfriend game. There’s some back and forth at the counter which leads to her embarassment and the start of the rocking theme song. Next we see her beginning to pay back Hyoudou. She informs Washimi her ideas to help bring down her debt owed. Her most recent endeavor is started a TubeTube channel to teach others how to do the Death Voice. She was a little bummed about the view count, but Washimi encourages her.
Retsuko meets up with the OTM members plus Hyoudou to discuss her ideas to help promote the group. She demonstrates how to make their own pins and talks about prices. She says that since they have a printer, the fans can take pictures at concerts and order a specialized pin. Retsuko asks about a social media page, and Hyoudou states the groups has one. When they look it up, none of them have been managing it. Retsuko says it’s probably a case of identity theft, but to not despair as they can start today with the offical OTM page that she will run. Retsuko starts giving updates and alerts every time OTM is performing. When she meets up with Washimi again Retsuko remarks on the groups progress. Washimi mentions it sounds like Retsuko is actually having fun.
Haida runs into Inui at a record shop and they start talking about music. They continue their conversation at a musical themed bar. The next day Fenneko sees them talking in the hallway and inquires about the gathering once she has Haida alone in the breakroom. Haida states that Inui was only returning the record he let her borrow. Fenneko obviously intrigued mentions that it appearted they had great chemistry. Haida denies it and states nothing is going on between them.
Hyodou gives OTM their very first paychecks with also paying Retsuko. Hidarin and Migi give their thanks to Retsuko. Manaka tries to act like it doesn’t matter to her, but then eventually thanks Retsuko as well. Retsuko takes her pay from Hyodou and says this is the first time she’s ever felt like she’s earned her pay. When she tries to return it to Hyodou, he declines and tells her to keep it as a momento. After he drops off the OTM girls, Retsuko comments on the new song playing. Hyodou states it’s the new demo, and Retsuko says that Manaka is a strong singer. The episode winds down with Hyodou and Manaka going to a karaoke so she can record. This was the only option since they can’t afford a studio. When Hyodou steps away to the restroom, he hears someone screaming in Death Voice. He was shocked to see who the voice belonged to: his own OTM account manager Retsuko.
My Reaction
Alright everyone, for the most part this episode was pretty low-key. Retsuko is doing her thing being a good account manager for the group. She coming up with plans with actionable steps to get OTM out of debt. She’s in a much better place than last episode. I think Washimi was right. Retsuko is actually having fun and I’m like “YES RETSUKO!” And thanks to her efforts the group was able to get paid! Yes to all the hard work the girls have been putting in. I also though it was really cool of Hyodou to let Retsuko keep her first cut. Now let’s get to Haida and Inui.
So I’m not entirely mad at their little love connection at the record shop. I mean how many movies have we seen this same little scene. Boy is looking for music. Girl is looking for music. They both keep moving closer and closer within the aisle eventually landing on the same record. It’s a classic start to a romcom (romantic comedy for those that don’t know). So who knows what going to happen with this pairing. Inui is alright if I’m going off of first impressions. There’s nothing that really stands out about her yet. I’m interested to see what kind of girl she’s going to be. I’ve seen enough romance anime to know that usually when another girl enters the picture she is typically a mean girl, doing what she wants to get the guy. *shrugs* So we will see how it goes.
And this the final scene that blew up this easy-going episode. HYODOU HAS SEEN RETSUKO! Oh my goodness, I was literally screaming at my TV! I can’t wait to see what Retsuko is going to do when she finds out. Although I’m not gon’ lie, anyone who knows her and sees that TubeTube is going to guess that it’s her. They were able to guess it was her on that random show that complains about your boss, when her face was blurred out. So I definitely think her co-workers can put 2 and 2 together.
What did you think of episode 4?! Were you shocked to see Retsuko found out? Let me know in the comments below! See ya’ll for the episode 5, peace!
